Art Therapy

Art therapy is used in conjunction with other techniques. Art therapy can be a very powerful and fun tool to use during sessions! Art therapy is an art making process to increase self-awareness of psychological and emotional needs and to develop coping techniques.  Art therapy uses various mediums to explore self-expression, identify coping techniques for stressors and to manage symptoms.

Art therapy is used with children, adults and geriatrics.  Art therapists use art therapy tasks for mental health clients with trauma, depression, anxiety and other illnesses as a therapeutic modality.  Clients do not need to be skilled in artistic expression to participate in the art therapy process.
